Obituary of Allan Birkenthal

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan Henry Birkenthal.

Allan was born to Harry and Ida Birkenthal in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Allan led a life that left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He farmed for many years in the Snowden area, eventually retiring to his home in Choiceland.  He enjoyed the outdoors and working on the farm tinkering on his equipment.

In 1957 Allan married Reta Rein.  They were blessed with a daughter Lyn and later in the years to come with five granddaughters, and 7 great grandchildren.

Allan was always willing to share his farming adventures with his friends and family and would often be spotted driving from his home in Choiceland to the farm, “just to check on things.”

Allan's memory will be carried on by: his sister, Carolyn (Dennis); his daughter, Lyn Brown; his granddaughters: Angela (Marc) Hoffort, Carman (Dan) Legge, Arianna Berthold (Ryan Wilson), Crystal Woodward (Dylan Knobel); his great-grandchildren: Hayden, Xander, Hayley, Sam, Sara-Lyn, Rebekah and Auoroa; and all those who called him Uncle Allan. 

As we say goodbye, let us remember the moments that we all shared with Allan.

Allan was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Ida Birkenthal; his granddaughter Caillie Woodward; and his sister Dorothy Harter.

Though Allan’s physical presence is no longer with us,
His spirit will live on in the memories we shared
and the lives he touched.
