Obituary of Michelle McGillivary

Michelle McGillivary was born in January, 1991 in Nipawin to parents Mildred McGillivary and late father Irvin Greenleaf. Michelle passed away on February 21, 2022 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon after a lengthy stay. Michelle grew up in Cumberland House, SK. She attended the Nisto Awasisak Memorial School and graduated from grade 12 in June 2016. She loved drawing and sketching and continued to add pictures in her journal in which she always carried around. Michelle also loved collecting poems, writing her own poems and writing her favorite lyrics to her favorite songs. She listened to all kinds of music. She enjoyed visiting and hanging out with her childhood friends and cousins she grew up with. Michelle’s life revolved around her two blessings Sophia and Irvin Cowboy. She loved taking them for long walks and spending time with them. Michelle leaves to treasure her memory: her two beautiful children Sophia Loren Madeline Cook and Irvin Cowboy Cook; her mother Mildred McGillivary; her sisters Mykayla McGillivary, Montana McGillivary, Whitney Greenleaf, Sarah Greenleaf; her brothers Irvin Greenleaf Jr. and Nicolas Greenleaf; maternal grandmother Bella McGillivary ; uncles Jason McGillivary, Danny (Marsha) Deschambeault, John Goulet, Tassie Goulet, Logan Goulet and Glenn Thomas Sr.; her aunties Jacqueline Fleury, Diane (Sean) McKenzie, Dominique Deschambeault, Dawn Deschambeault, Debbie Fosseneuve and Shelly Greenleaf; paternal grandfather Robert Goulet, god-mother Sonia Starr, her god-child Kristen Fleury; nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, extended families of uncles, aunties, grandparents and chapans. Michelle was predeceased by her father Irvin Paul Greenleaf; maternal grandfather Edward Deschambeault; maternal grandmother Madeline Goulet, paternal aunties Lorraine Thomas and Alma Goulet; paternal uncles William Weir and Rudy Greenleaf; chapans Joseph and Maryjane McGillivary, Edward and Melanie Deschambeault, William and Rosalie Greenleaf; God-father Ralph Sewap.
