James "Jim" Parker passed away February 23, 2021 at Pineview Lodge in Nipawin after a brief illness. Jim was born in 1930 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan to parents, Charles and Mary (Wiebe) Parker. He attended school in Codette, Saskatchewan.
Jim moved with his parents to the farm at Battle Heights in November 1947. He worked in The Pas at the saw mill during winters and returned to help on the farm during the growing season. Jim spent his life farming and doing cat work during the winter months. He baled hay and cut wood. He was a hard worker. He never had idle hands.
Jim met Luella Matthies in 1984 and after many years together they married on October 19, 2003 at the farm. They lived together on the farm until 2016 when they moved into Nipawin. Jim remained at home until May 2017, when he moved into Pineview Lodge due to health issues, where he resided until his passing.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Mary Parker; stepsons, Larry and Milton Shuh; sister Cora; brother Wayne and brother in law, Hugh McKie.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Luella: sisters, Shiela McKie and Carole (Jim) Smith: sister-in-law, Helen Parker: step-daughter in-law Joan: grandchildren, Trevor, Bobbie-Jo and Dion and numerous nieces and nephews.
