Brant Gerry Kirstein was born on August 1, 1982, in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta to Gerry and Dianne Kirstein (nee Genaille). He was a bouncing 8lb bundle of joy and the apple of his parent’s eye. His big sister Tressa was thrilled to have a baby brother to play with. Brant was full of energy and spunk right from the beginning.
Brant moved to Tisdale in 1986 where he went to school until his graduation in 2000 (except for Gr 11 where he attended Notre Dame). Brant loved playing hockey and was fondly known as “Crusher” He also loved playing baseball and football growing up. He had many friends and was a very loyal and giving person. He loved to have fun and make others laugh with his jokes, infectious laugh and a great rendition of river dance.
Brant liked playing guitar, going golfing and absolutely loved fishing. He was a history buff and loved reading and watching movies about the world wars. Brant had a love for animals. He enjoyed playing computer games and watching comedy of any kind.
After his graduation Brant moved to Alberta, where his dad lived, to work. He stayed in Alberta and worked in the oil industry for years. During this time, he moved to Gull Lake and started his own business. Brant returned to Saskatchewan to live in Saskatoon in 2009 and got a job as a cook. He loved cooking and it was always a treat when we would be invited over for a meal. He was especially proud of his homemade ice cream cakes. Since then Brant had gone back to working as a pipe fitter which he was very good at and enjoyed. He was a hard worker and knowledgeable and any job he had throughout his life and always tried his best and put in a lot of effort and extra time.
