Joseph Hermenegilde ARTHUR Lafond DAGENAIS Arthur (Art) was born August 15th 1938 in Laventure Sk to Joseph Eucher Dagenais and Maria Theresa Julietta Lajeunesse. He passed away July 14th, 2020 at the age of 81 Art's parents were married April 8, 1929 and farmed at Laventure. Eucher came from Valleyfield Quebec and Julietta from Dorval Quebec. The Dagenais family farmed with Grandparents Joseph and Marie Lajeunesse in Laventure Sk. Art met and married Beneatta Teskey on July 30, 1960 in Leoville Sk. They had seven children and adopted two more children. He worked in many professions such as; carpentry, janitorial and at Neufeld Seeds. Nipawin became home in 1970 for the family as Dad moved us from Port Alberni in the homemade camper he built. Dad married Germaine Hall on October 9th, 1993 and lived together in North Battleford before moving to Creston BC. They lived in the fruit valley for a number of years then moved to Carrot River on acreage. This is where Dad returned to his farming roots and enjoyed the pigs, chickens and horses. Dad loved his horses Thunder and Sheba and would teach them to dance and pull sleds. Before long Dad was looking for his next project and they settled in Vawn, SK. In 2015 Dad moved back to the Nipawin area. Dad liked to be on the move. He enjoyed fixing up his projects and selling for a profit. He struggled for a few years with kidney disease and succumbed to it July 14, 2020 with Germaine and Auntie Rita at his side. Art enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and gardening. We all have memories driving to the north lakes for camping and fishing. It seemed the tent was always put up in the dark in the rained but somehow all nine of us had a bed and food. The hunting stories were known to be told for many years and they got bigger every year. He said his hunting adventures never left him lost in the bush. There was one year he did stay overnight with one match in minus 30 weather and he walked out the next morning with a moose. Dad loved taking his son "little" Art hunting with him. He often forgot that little Art was a young child and Dad would end up carrying my brother on his back along with his gun. During his final days, dad told me how tired he was and how he remembered never being that tired hunting and packing out the meat. It was very important to him to provide for his family and he did it with pride. Dad loved all his children and often talked about how he missed being with them and watching the little ones play. He longed for those days gone by. He will be watching over us and he will be walking beside us. I will miss our walks, talks and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. We love you!
